Who we are
Education Training Opportunity
Lumen Foundation’s work connects community support with education, career preparation, and workforce development. Our approach recognizes that lasting stability requires access to practical skills, employment opportunities, and services that help individuals succeed in training and on the job.
Building on this foundation, Lumen has developed Federal Registered Apprenticeship programs that combine structured instruction with paid, supervised workplace learning. Our programs prepare participants for careers in digital video editing, marketing, security, and business development.
Lumen’s workforce development efforts connect participants and employer partners with opportunities within state and federal workforce and apprenticeship systems. Through education, employer partnerships, and individualized support, we help participants build skills, gain work experience, and advance toward sustained employment.

Priority Populations
Lumen Foundation prioritizes apprenticeship and workforce training opportunities for individuals who face barriers to employment, including:
Veterans
Individuals who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces and seek career training, civilian employment, or support transitioning from military service into the workforce.
Youth Who Have Aged Out of Foster Care
Young adults who have transitioned out of the foster care system and need career training, employment opportunities, and support as they move toward independent living.
Individuals Experiencing Homelessness
Individuals who lack stable, safe housing, including those living in shelters, transitional housing, vehicles, or places not intended for habitation.
Individuals Affected by the Criminal Justice System
Individuals with a history of arrest, conviction, incarceration, probation, or parole who may face barriers to employment and need support entering or returning to the workforce.
Individuals with Low Incomes
Individuals and families with limited financial resources who need access to paid career training and supportive services to improve employment prospects and economic stability.
